Sherwood Art Week (SAW) is an annual celebration of local creativity and has a strong ethos of community involvement.
Welbeck Surgey are proud to be involved in this annual event by exhibiting the work of some of the local artists within the surgery through something called Art in the Shops.
Art in the Shops is a way of artists and makers showcasing one or two items of their work in a shop window, turning our highstreet into a huge Art Gallery.

In 2014/15 Welbeck Surgery is hoping to develop the Patient Group so it can be more effective and meet more regularly.
This is the 2013/14 report which shows that although we have undertaken patient surveys we have not met very often.
New ideas for 2014/15 include:
Meeting with other local Patient Groups to share experiences.
Small patient surveys about particular services i.e. ECGs, treatment room services or phlebotomy.
Any patient can make a suggestion or comment and we will reply by posting the suggestion and our response in the waiting area so all patients can see what has been said.
If anyone is interested in joining the patient participation group please let the practice manager know.
Any other ideas would be gratefully received by Ruth Cutler, the practice manager.

This is a free health check for anyone between the ages of 40 and 74. The check can help you understand your risk of having a long term health condition and also support you whilst you make changes to your lifestyle. Please ask at reception if you think you are eligible.
You can also make an appointment with the Practice Nurse if you want to discuss weight loss and increasing exercise. She can help with a referral to Healthy Change who can offer classes and support to help you reach your targets.
As you may be aware from recent media coverage, there have been outbreaks of measles in many areas of the country.
If you are unsure whether your child has been fully vaccinated against this horrible disease, please ask at reception to speak to our practice nurse. We can provide top up vaccinations to ensure that your child is protected.
For more information about the measles outbreak and what to do, please visit the NHS Choices website:
If you have regular blood tests you may notice that we no longer routinely give you a form with a plastic bag attached. You may just receive an A4 piece of paper with some details on it.
This is because our new pathology request system works on a bar code.
Just take the paper to the phlebotomist as usual. They can find the request and read the bar code and will know what blood tests you need.
If you are unsure just ask reception to explain the process to you.

The patient survey was ran towards the end of last year and was designed to gain valuable feedback from the patients of the Welbeck surgery about their levels of satisfaction with the services we provide.
The results of the survey will allow us to improve the services we provide in a patient-guided manner.
Your comments and suggestions were extremely important to us.
